What were your musical influences when you were growing up?

The Michelle Thibodeau Interview at Nealheart.com

Michelle Thibodeau

Growing up I studied Classical voice, so I was heavily influenced by sopranos including Charlotte Church, Hayley Westenra, Sarah Brightman and Celtic Woman. My parents would also play artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Sarah McLaughlin and Alison Krauss around the house which are still some of my favourites.

Where do you find inspiration?

The Michelle Thibodeau Interview at Nealheart.com

Michelle Thibodeau

When I listen to another singer-songwriter's work that I find very moving or well-written, I always find myself inspired to write a new song. I also love surrounding myself with other musicians and I'm inspired to learn new techniques by watching them.

What sacrifices did you make for your music?

Michelle Thibodeau

I value my family greatly, so moving to another province on my own to pursue music was definitely a big sacrifice. I am very thankful they support me in this decision.

What success did you want to achieve?

The Michelle Thibodeau Interview at Nealheart.com

Michelle Thibodeau

My ultimate goal is to sustain myself through my music alone. Right now I am working two serving jobs and working for a children's theatre while still trying to find time to advance musically. My dream is to one day support myself entirely with what I love most.

Tell about your recent project?

Michelle Thibodeau

In September 2014, I released the first song from my third album. The single is called "Let It Move You" and since it is doing well on iTunes, I decided to start promoting it to local radio stations. I also recently did an episode on Jeff's Musical Car which is a successful way to promote original music on the East Coast of Canada.
